So I kind of understand the difference between the two. But is there a big difference? If I have the option to run either 64 or 32 bit FL, and my computer is 64bit then is that the smarter choice to go with? Currently I'm running 32bit with 32 VST's, but say I'm near the end of a project and I have say 30 Vsts loaded in total, FL starts to get laggy and glitchy, yesterday it was using 2million memory. My question is, if I start using 64 fl with 64bit plugins, will that help that case at all? Or will I not notice any difference.
Only difference you will notice is with big libraries (Kontakt, Omnisphere, Superior Drummer, etc), as the samples are loaded into ram, where in FL 64bits you have a lot, and in 32bits its limited to 4gb.Plugin's processing is done by the cpu, and if your computer is competent, either 32 or 64bits will make full use of it.If you use FL64b, you'll be better using 64bits plugins too. Again, this will only make a difference if the plugin uses ram to load samples. If a plugin is 32bit only, it will be automatically bridged by FL, so it can run in FL64b. This uses a little cpu, so you are trading processing power for ram.
