The Division 2If this turns out to be a genuine bug, it would be a pretty remarkable one. Spent some time messing around in the shooting range, where the game can track your accuracy by telling you how many bullets you landed out of how many shots you took. The results offered something a whole lot more interesting than a simple assessment of the player’s accuracy: based on the results from the range, it seemed like the game was only registering half of the shots they took, even when firing at such close range that they could be assured that every bullet should theoretically be landing.User PloufBadaboum said that they tested the mechanic for hours on PS4 and came up with the same results, though with little explanation:I’ve been testing for hours, and all my tests seem to point to bullet registering issue. Roughly half the bullets don’t get registered by the game. I don’t know if it’s a server problem, if it’s a fps problem, but something is going on.While aiming with a controller might be harder than with a mouse for some, I think the main reason players have issues on consoles (I assume xbox has the same problem) it’s because bullets don’t get registered by the game.Massive said that it was looking into the problem. While the original poster was playing on PlayStation and much of the discussion revolves around how the 30 fps framerate could affect things on console, there were some PC players reporting similiar issues, though not as many of them.

At this point it’s not clear if this is a console-specific bug or something that’s affecting all versions of the game.Players also spent a whole lot of time playing around with different weapons with different rates of fire, and have found what appear to be widespread issues. This could, theoretically, explain some of the extreme difficulty console players were reporting with the raid. If half the bullets aren’t being registered that could effectively halve a given weapon’s DPS, causing huge problems against bullet-sponge bosses. And if this is indeed a console-specific bug, it would offer some explanation as to why it took console teams so long to finish the first raid. There are a lot of questions right now, though at the moment we’re mostly waiting on Massive.

It’s an interesting case reminiscent of display damage not matching real damage in Anthem, so I’m curious to see what happens. Maybe my accuracy stats will go up a bit if this thing is patched.Follow me on.
